Creating Jobs

One of my pet peeves is when someone in government says they need to focus on the economy and creating jobs. It's been shown many times that the best way for government to "create jobs" is to get out of the way and let the private sector create real jobs. That is one of the differences between Democratics and Republicans. Dems want to create more government jobs. Trying to improve the economy by growing government is like trying to push a rope.

Feeling Safe

It should certainly make us all feel safer knowing that our government is now flying domestic drones. These UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) use infrared sensors and have high-resolution cameras. They can also be armed with lethal force or rubber bullets and tear gas. By being operated from a remote location, government bureaucrats can now make sure that you are safe and that all your needs are being taken care of, by Big Government.

Heart Candy

Even tho it is an election year, I was quite surprised to find this particular saying on one of the Valentine's Day candies purchased at a random place at a random time. Speaking of politics, I heard that Hope and Change have changed into Hype and Blame. Those sound like winning planks of a popular platform.

Looking Around

I captured this bird with my camera. Pixlr Express was used to transform the original picture into something special. My wife thinks this picture looks religious. I was quite disappointed when Google pulled the plug on Picnik (for image editing). If you have not yet discovered Pixlr Express, it can be a religious experience. Now I just hope Google doesn't change the Blogger Interface so much so that it is no longer user friendly. Change isn't always for the better, as we've seen with the Obamaization of America.

Chicken Tax

President Obama and Vice President Sharpton getogether to discuss a possible new tax on fried chicken, along with a controversial racial profiling tax, in addition to a new umbrella tax on all taxes. These gifted national organizers believe the best way to improve the economy and to create more federal jobs is to dramatically increase taxes and play the class warfare card wherever possible. When asked about possible challenges by Congress to these new mandates, their reply was: "Could we get some more chicken, here?"

Obama Economy Doing Great

Flying in the face of conventional wisdom, the Obama Administration has shown that a country can actually tax itself back into prosperity. Through a sustained effort to add layers and layers of new regulations and taxes, unfettered government spending can create jobs and lead back to a robust economy. By not resting until the problem was fixed, President Obama has single-handedly demonstrated that you can "push a rope". Since this tax-and-spend approach has worked so well, hopefully congressional members will support his plan to do more of the same (and as quickly as possible).

Presidential Advice

Would you rather have a big slice of a small apple, or a small slice of a big apple? If government truly wants to increase its revenue, it should go with lower tax rates in a robust economy. Lowering tax rates increases revenue. Unfortunately, President Obama does not understand this. He is either misinformed, misguided, or mistaken.

"President Obama on Friday (July 15) kept up the pressure on Republicans to agree to revenue increases in a deal to raise the debt ceiling, claiming 80 percent of the public supports Democrats' demand for tax increases. Throughout the press conference, Obama blasted Republicans for ignoring what he said is the will of the American people by rejecting tax increases that would balance out spending cuts in a debt package." It is too bad President Obama doesn't look to President Reagan or President Kennedy for prudent advice on this matter.

In a speech to the Economic Club of New York delivered on December 14, 1962, President Kennedy wisely advised:

"In short, it is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now. The experience of a number of European countries and Japan have borne this out. This country's own experience with tax reduction in 1954 has borne this out. And the reason is that only full employment can balance the budget, and tax reduction can pave the way to that employment. The purpose of cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus.

I repeat: our practical choice is not between a tax-cut deficit and a budgetary surplus. It is between two kinds of deficits: a chronic deficit of inertia, as the unwanted result of inadequate revenues and a restricted economy, or a temporary deficit of transition, resulting from a tax cut designed to boost the economy, increase tax revenues, and achieve, I believe — and I believe this can be done — a budget surplus. The first type of deficit is a sign of waste and weakness; the second reflects an investment in the future."

Bonfire Maintenance

What is the best way to stoke a fire? If you want to keep a fire going or even build it up, would you throw gasoline on it, sprinkle it with water, or stack a few big logs at its base? Gasoline is a quick fix and does not last long. Water dampens the fire and threatens its existence. A few well-placed dry logs will keep a fire going for future good times. Why then, does the Obama Administration keep trying to stoke the economy by dampening it with more and more taxes and regulations?

Face Book

Apparently President Obama is such a fast reader that he can read a book as it passes by his head. This book must have been a funny one by looking at his face book expression. One wonders what it must be like to be his brain when our Commander-In-Chief walks through the Library Of Congress. If only he could teach us all how to absorb knowledge as quickly as he can.

Unique Flake

We all know that no two snowflakes are identical. It is almost certain that no two presidents are the same. One could easily argue that no two blog posts are twins. So, when all three of these parameters come together into one creation (see snowflake above), it is truly a unique experience.

President Obama is quite good at reading his speeches off of his teleprompters. The way he smoothly looks back and forth from teleprompter to teleprompter can be quite mesmerizing. Idea: Why not free him up to do more important things (like play basketball) and let us read the speeches directly? Simply turn the cameras to the teleprompter and let it roll. Safety Is Priceless

President Obama and his wife will be visiting Mumbai, India for two days after the mid-term elections. Mumbai (Bombay) is the second most populous city in the world, after Shanghai. To ensure a safe visit, all 570 rooms at the Taj Mahal Hotel have been reserved, along with all the banquet rooms and restaurants. Additionally, 125 rooms at the Taj President, and 80-90 rooms at each of the Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi have been reserved. Air Force One will be accompanied by two jumbo jets and a flock of security jets. There will be 45 cars in the Presidential Convoy. US naval ships will be patrolling at sea. His personal Presidential Chefs will be brought along to prepare their food. All this for a two day visit to India. What's the price tag going to be for this visit? Wouldn't it be a lot easier just to make a phone call?

Best of the Worst

Why is President Obama's general approval of 42% lower than the 45% who strongly disapprove? It's probably a combination of numerous reasons, all of which are getting stronger. It seems the more the economy struggles, the more Barry goes on vacation to golf. Perhaps people are getting tired of being ridiculed for simply questioning why all his personal records have been locked down. If you don't have anything to hide, why all the secrecy about your life's path to the Whitehouse? Perhaps a generally conservative nation is tired of a liberal administration trying to ram through an ultra-liberal agenda, and it always must be done as quickly as possible. Perhaps it comes down to a simple matter of trust and respect.

Solemnly Sworn

I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Tar Ball

The Obamadministration recently said we can no longer use the term "jihadists" when referring to the war on terror because it has religious connotations. We also cannot use the terms "terrorists" or "war on terrorism" because these imply a certain tactic of war rather than a group of people. On a different front, we can now no longer use the term "tar ball" because it is a derogatory term which only serves to remind people of the ongoing BP oil leak mega-disaster situation in the Gulf of Mexico. The best way to control the debate is by controlling the language. Just added to the list: We can no longer say "Gulf of Mexico".

Voting For Change

When Obama ran on Hope & Change, few knew he actually meant changing around the furniture. Not only could he organize whole communities as an ACORN community organizer, but he would end up personally rearranging the Oval Office. He seems to be moving everything to the far left. Regarding his policies, if you voted for him and have any voter remorse, just imagine how folks that didn't vote for him feel.
