The much anticipated showdown between the Minnesoda Vikings and NYGiants which was originally scheduled for Sunday noon, then Monday night, is most likely: "On Hold". Metrodome officials confirm the roof collapsed in the wake of a "major" winter storm to hit the region. Some locals describe the Home of the Vikings as looking like "a large bowl of sugar". (Maybe the Sugar Bowl can be played here?) Because of the blizzard, the NYGiants ended up "visiting" the Kansas City Chiefs for the evening. Perhaps the Vikings' new stadium should not opt for a "collapsible roof". If roof workers can simply remove the damaged roof, the Vikings/Giants match-up could be played as an old-fashioned outdoor game. Just remember to bring a "flask of hot cocoa".
We are definitely having a White Christmas in North Dakota (and numerous surrounding states). The interstate highways are all closed. City officials are advising no jogging. The sound of snowblowers is in the air.
I like to shovel my snow instead of using a snowblower. That way it can be directioned into a nice big pile which will eventually become a snowfort.
It looks like Christmas 2009 will include lots of snow and shovelling, partridge and sparrows in the backyard, indoor nibbling on all the leftover food from Christmas Eve, and of course, there is one NFL football game on TV tonight. There's nothing like a good old-fashioned Christmas.
Monday Night Football on October 5, 2009 should be an interesting game when Brett Favre's Minnesota Vikings host the Green Bay Packers! They play again in Green Bay on Sunday, November 1, at high noon!
